Introduction

The session will introduce a new open-source project: Power Grid Model, which has been accepted by the LF Energy. It is a high-performance distribution grid calculation library. To face the challenges of the energy transition, many statistical and/or machine learning methods are applied for power system analysis, which usually requires power system calculations (preferably in parallel) for a substantial number of simulation cases/scenarios. Using efficient C++ implementation, this library provides a significant single-thread performance boost compared to existing open-source solutions, let alone its native multi-threading support. By making this project open-source, we hope to bring its benefits to industrial applications and academic research outside Alliander, as well as to build a community-driven ecosystem that will spark rich collaboration and attract many contributors.

Follow-up: meet-up on 6 June 2023

Want to know more about Power Grid Model and follow the latest updates? Join our Power Grid Model Meet-up on 6 June! The Meet-up is organized in hybrid form, online or onsite at our office in Arnhem, Netherlands.
