EVerest is an open source operating system for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. After a brief introduction to the landscape of electric vehicle charging technologies, including an overview of the standards and protocols involved, this presentation provides a technical introduction to the EVerest Project. The software is based on a flexible and modular framework. With the holistic concept and by abstracting standards and use cases, EVerest can specifically cover the complex setup and requirements of modern and future charging stations, including functionality like bidirectional charging and Plug&Charge. EVerest runs on any Linux device without major customization efforts, from AC home chargers to DC public charging stations. It includes implementations of various protocols related to EV Charging, like OCPP, ISO15118, IEC-61851 and more.

EVerest is an Apache2.0 licensed project within LF Energy. It was initiated by PIONIX GmbH to support the electrification of the mobility sector.
